why is my ABS light and Trac OFF light on in my 99 Pontiac Grand Am GT

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Am GT and my ABS and TRAC OFF lights are on but sometimes they go off and my car moves slow then after a couple minutes they come back on and it picks up speed.

Dirty or faulty ABS wheel speed sensor. You have to have the codes read to find out which one.

The antilock brake system and the traction control system work together. When the computer detects a problem with the ABS the traction control system is disabled as well. Do as Tom said and look for a dirty or bad ABS sensor. HTH. -Jim

Its probably a broken wire on one of your front wheels. Thats my cars problem.
