Can I swap parts from a 2003 GT and put them on a 1997 SE?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a friend who has a 2003 Grand Am GT and I have a 1997 Grand Am SE. His car
has been written off and he wants to get rid of the thing. There are alot of great parts such
as the engine. He was tboned in the ass end so his frame is bent. Other than that the car
is sound. So I was wondering if I were to buy it from him is it possible to take parts off his
and instal in mine?

Yes, both are OBD II vehicles. You may need to change the wiring harness with the engine so save that. Also, save the VIN from the salvage car. The computer may need to be flashed (programmed) to run correctly using that VIN. HTH -Jim
