How do you know if you have a blown head gasket or cracked head on a 96 grand am se 2.4 litre twin cam?

To see if you have blown head gasket check your engine oil and see if slimey/ smells like coolant, or you can do a compression test. To see if your head is cracked at all i would get it magna fluxed. It will show even the smallest of cracks in the head.

Take the spark plugs out, then try to start your car. If coolant shoots out at you then you blew your head gasket.
