1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL 2dr coupe

I have already disabled the security system for the key.  Several months ago
I lost the only key I had to the car.  Recently I removed the key cylinder to
have a key made by a locksmith.  When I reinstalled the cylinder and
reassembled everything on the steering column everything worked fine
except when I turn the key to the start position NOTHING!  The lights will dim
and that's it.  I hooked up a remote start switch and it started right up without
any issues.  What have I missed or messed up?
