Fuel getting in oil

Recently have been using alot of gas did an
oil change yeserday and noticed the dipstick
was about 3 inches above full and smells
like gas so how would fuel be getting into
the oil?

Fuel pressure regulator is the first thing to check, when the diaphragm leaks the fuel is pushed into the vacuum line that attaches to it, so if that isn't it then you will have to hookup a fuel pressure gauge and get a reading and then wait too see how long it holds pressure, if it bleeds off fairly quickly then you have leaking fuel injectors. But the regulator is my bet.
