STARTER OVERRUN DAMAGE CAUSED

CAR RUNNING FOR 30 MINUTES WITH STARTER ENGAGED.   WILL NOT RESTART.

It usually tears the starter apart internally first then if your lucky the starter case cracks at the mounts and the starter is dislodged, if not so lucky it rips the teeth off the ring gear and you have to have the tranny removed to replace it.

Remove the starter and inspect ALL the teeth on the flywheel for damage.
