Dorman Intake Manifold

Asked by Jun 27, 2015 at 08:36 PM about the 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Took off my manifold today and see that the part is less than 2 years old. 2000 Mercury
Grand Marquis- this is the aftermarket Dorman part. The plastic is cracked near the
thermostat housing and rear of the manifold. 4 of the gaskets are falling apart.

Is this common with the aftermarket part? I am going to take a photo tomorrow to see
what others think.

It will happen if over heat.

Dorman = Junk! I will not buy or install anything made by Dorman.

Best Answer

It was leaking which caused the over heat- the part is actually cheaper than a Dorman. The intake is a cheap part made in South Asia. The actual company is called Replacement!
