I just bought a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS and was wondering why my interior clock stops working when I turn on the headlights? It comes back on when I turn the lights off.

I am guessing that it really doesn't turn off, there is a logic circuit for the display that when the headlight are turned on it switches to an internal bulb that is not as bright as the display would be in the dark. Check with the dealer parts counter to see if the bulb is serviceable, some are some aren't.
