2000 Mercury Grand Marquis GS 4.6 engine
One coil pack keeps burning I smell it under
the Hood I noticed that the connecter to the
coil pack was burnt on the inside I replaced
the first coil pack because it cracked but my
fuse 7 keeps blowing to my cpm I checked the
wires on the harness but found nothing could
it just be that connector please help
You can get original replacement connectors. That would be the first thing to try. Blowing a fuse all the time is a short, power running to ground.
I would replace the coil pack and connector. The packs are robust, but what else could be drawing all that current?
Yep, good point, the coils can be tested, or look to see something obvious like a crack and carbon tracks around the tower that run to a ground.
