1996 Mercury Grand Marquis
Runs fine at idle, as soon as I press the gas pedal it's
stalling out. So far I have changed the fuel filter the fuel
pump and throttle position sensor oh and new coil packs.
Help me please I actually work on these things but I've
never owned a Mercury. Thank you
Have you tried cleaning the injectors?
Wont rev-up or anything when touching the throttle under the hood... Just bog down worse than idle.
You have several hoses that are vacuum lines connected to the intake they will crack near the ends. Remove the big hose from the throttle body and use a microfiber towel with solvent to wipe clean the throttle plate and all the inside of the throttle body as far that you can reach while holding open the throttle plate. Still not fixed then start the car and spray carb cleaner on sections of the engine to hear if engine speed changes upon being sprayed then you can know where to look for the vacuum leak.
