Air ride suspension

Asked by Jun 03, 2016 at 04:39 AM about the 2005 Lincoln Town Car Signature L

Question type: General

My 2005 town car has air ride suspension on the rear. As I
walked out to my car today it was lowered in the rear what
seem to be all the way. I turned on my car and it raised it
back up to the proper level, but in the year-and-a-half that
I've owned this vehicle it has never done that before.
Should I be concerned?

Watch and see, that system is very easy to service and a hose may have worked loose. Lots of parts available also, I suggest NOT going to the Ford dealer.

These systems will develope leaks as they age, so take it to a shop, you trust and have it checked out, it could be anything from a leaking hose to a weather checked air bag. So get it checked before it goes completely, if that does happen you can still drive it to get it fixed but the ride will be horrible as the rear differential will be sitting on the bump stops.

Thank you. Appointment scheduled with my guy to take a look at her.

Great, hope it's something simple.
