Car knocking

Car runs quiet in park no knocking at all..but
when i drive off when i accelerate. .here
comes the loud ...knocking sound

someone told me once that if there is knocking it may need an oil change

My 1989 Lincoln Town Car be gain to tap a little bit, so I change the oil, but the more I drive the more I here it, it there something I can put in the engine to help with the sound?
