2002 Lincoln Town car Cartier
Lincoln Town car has almost same suspension as my Mercury Marauder and I know it well. I recommend factory or Arnott parts. The air compressor and 2 air bags cost about $500.00 from Arnott. Pretty easy to install. For parts and prices check out the link. You can also remove the air suspension and install coil springs and shocks for less money, but I think the factory air suspension works well.... https://www.arnottindustries.com/search-Products/index.asp? make=2&model=3&year=14
Maybe 2 to 2 1/2 hours labor, tops. Having a shop do it and charge retail for parts, I would guess about $1000.00 depending on which parts they change. That is just a guess.....
If it were me I would convert the car to standard suspension but if you like the air ride then take Bob's advice.
Air ride on her Lincoln is just rear suspension only. Pretty simple set-up. Usually the compressors get noisy and go out. You can change one out in about 30 minutes. If the air bags don't leak they are good to go, if they do leak it is and easy swap. Other than that, there is not much to it. Very simple setup and it is great to be able to load the trunk with groceries etc. and not have the car sag in the rear end.
