Many different things. Since the light is on the cars computer or PCM stores a code into memory and you can have the car scanned for the codes which will tell you what the issue might be. Any mechanic can do this and even you with a code scanner for $25 if your handy. Also any local auto parts store will do this for free. Once you have the 4 digit code you can post back here and we can help further.
