What causes blow by in an 1998 LINCOLN TOWN CAR ENGINE
Blow-By is the normal passing of pressure in to crankcase past piston rings. Worn or broken piston ring(s) will make it worse
Hello, With the introduction of the new body style for town cars in 98, several things were changed...the intake plenum is know for leaking coolant, and I have seen this fill a cylinder and "wash" the walls of the block down, and then you get premature ring/piston wear. For info only...A town car will go 400,000 miles plus with proper care and oil changes on the OEM 4.6. For good info only...that engine is Cheap...you can swap out one from that year Crown Vic or Mercury Marquis...and be back going again for not too much loot. Hope this helps, AskTrannyMan
