Not all Cylinders firing then not firing

Asked by PhyGuy Oct 19, 2016 at 08:44 PM about the 1998 Lincoln Town Car Cartier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So we stopped driving my wife's car when she got pregnant and then 5
months or so later we try starting it back up and it starts but, as we come to
find out from the error code, four of the coils are not firing. Coils 4,5,6 and
8 are not working (3 on one side and 1 on the other). Specifically, the error
code reads "P0354/P0355/P0356/P0358 Ignition Coil (D,E,F, H)
primary/secondary circuit"

Solutions tried: replaced all ignition coils, replaced all spark plugs, replaced
electrical connectors to coils, replaced PCM, replaced battery

In between replacing PCM and battery, the car decided it didn't want to get
power. When jumped, car would turn over but not start. My theory is that
there may be a short in a wire somewhere but I am looking for other ideas
as well. Please help! I'm at my wit's end now.

Hi. I read your post (old one) regarding a Lincoln Town Car with no firing on cylinder 4, 5, 6 and 8. I have the same problem. Did you find out what the problem was? Very sincerely Rickard
