Question type: Maintenance & Repair

we are working on a 1997 lincoln tc with a 8.8 axle. we changed the fluid out w/ fresh 80-
90, until the fluid came out of the fill hole. this is how we always did it in the past but on
other sites the info is to not go past a quarter to 9/16" below fill hole.

Only information I could find is on a thread............................................... http://www.lincolnsonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46713

"On the 98 the fill level is supposed to be a 1/4" or so below the fill hole level" I don't know why '97 would be any different, it has 8.8
