is the 4.6L engine rpm protected? In a park position I cannot push the accelerator to the floor without it missing at high rpms

maby a rev limiter,how dose it run on the road.

It's possible that the computer system is limiting the RPMs, but this shouldn't cause a miss at any level. It sounds like you may have spark or timing related issues.
