I am losing alot of oil out of the front of tge engine. But it looks like it is coming from behind the plate on the front of the motor. It is a 4.2 L v8. It still runs great, any ideas?
NO engine is made to operate with too much oil in it. Has the leak reduced after the proper amount of oil is in it. How many miles are on this car. It may have damaged the cam or crank seals.
No the oil leak has not reduced. I was thinking it was a crank or cam baring seal. Is that repairable with the motor in the car?
Thats what I was hoping. Thanks
The front end of the car comes off in about an hour. That's not the problem. The crank seal, etc are the bigger issue. Those can cost a lot more if that is the actual problem (versus a cam seal. Check that out, behind the timing belt cover.)
