Electrical Dead Except the Headlights

Asked by Aug 18, 2016 at 06:58 AM about the 2002 Lexus LS 430 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since I don't drive my Lexus that much I leave the positive cable off the post.  I
went to put it on yesterday and the headlights and taillights came on.  The rest
of the electrical system is dead.  It turns over but doesn't start.  Help!!!

You should be removing the negative battery cable, not the positive. Have the battery checked. Should be 12.3V , if under 12V, that is your problem. It might just be weak from sitting. In the future , instead of removing a battery cable, use a Deltran Battery tender.
