i have a 1994 lexus ls 400 and my right hand side cat .converter is smoking after about five minutes . check engine light was blinking on and off but now it stays on .

Get to a mechanic quickly. You could end up with a car fire from it over heating.

Or a leaking fuel injector.

Cat is probably clogged and cant process the exhaust properly anymore. I've seen it before where they actually glow red from the heat they produce when the catalytic converter fails.

Im not sure my 400 ls is smoking when i start it up white smoke.
