ihave a 92 lexus ls 400 .had new cats, timing belt water pump,cap,rotor,plugs wires. car was runing perfect for 6 months all of a sudden lost all power could not go aver 40 .checked underneath the car .the cats were cherry red.what are the probablecauses for this?

what would cause brand new cats to go bad?

Unburnt fuel getting into your exhaust will cause the cats to get blocked. So with all the parts you mentioned being replaced, I didn;'see the ignition coil/coils. You should have noticed a miss or ruff running engine, no? A check engine light?
