Hydraulic Fan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey i have a jeep grand cherokee 2005 limited 5.7l and it
has a hydraulic fan. The fan works fine and i recently just
put a new power steering pump in and now is the fan that
is over accelerated and noisy. Do u guys now what i
should do or how do i fix it?

1 Answer

sounds like the fans clutch locked up making the fan run at the same speed as the engine best way to check is to try to spin the fan with your hand (engine off and cold ) if the fan doesnt move / spin easily then the clutch has locked up and you will need to replace the fan. if it does move easily then will need to look elsewhere
