2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Service 4wheel drive light is on and will not shift into 4 low.Tried pulling fuse #25 in it worked the first time. Next time, it didn't work. Any ideas???
The light is trying to tell you to service the 4wd. I would do that.
By service what do mean? Change fluid, take to shop? Done both. Dealership said it was the transfer case motor. Replaced it. No change...
Pretty sure there was a recall for this problem. I think you just need to bring it to the dealer and they will reflash the PCM. If yours is not covered under the recall, try doing this in the video......................... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu1cz45SrlU
The dealership already installed the new software and no change. Just watched that video and am going to give it a shot. Thanks for your advice
Hope it works for you. Makes sense that if the PCM is getting the wrong signal, like it's sensing that the vehicle is not in N when in fact it is, that may be just enough to not let it go into 4 low. Keep us posted on the outcome. There's a ton of Cherokee owners with this issue. Good luck!
