I have a vibration of the steering at about 40 MPH. It appeared about a year ago, and has increased
slowly. Tried alignment and balance without much change; changed tires and it almost dissapeared for
a short while, then reappeared as strong as before, or perhaps stronger..
Only other thing to look at is the bushings, bearings, u-joints and suspension components. Are they loose or worn, making noise? Also could be warped brake rotors.
That Jeep still have the straight axle front end? Look at everything "tom" suggests but pay particular attention to the track bar bushings
along the stearing shaft theres a rubber bushing you might have to replace that
