A quick diagnostic would be to take and examine the belt with the engine off, look at the teeth and look at the condition of the belt, if there are missing teeth, the belt is cracked or the belt is bald then I would replace the belt immediately . If the belt looks fine you can take a bar soap and press it against the inside of the belt while the engine is running. If the squeaking stops then it is most likely lubrication problem however if the squeaking does not stop turn off the engine, let it cool off and remove the belt. Individually check each pulley and make sure that they spin freely if you find any that are harder to spin then you have a pulley problem. That could either be bad ball bearings or a dead pulley.

If a serpentine belt squeaks there is a problem. Dayco or Gates is fine, Continental Elite ??? Is mentioned above, make a diagram of the belt routing, remove the belt, briefly start the engine to see if squeak went away (don't run the engine with the belt off for more than 1 minute), check all idlers and tensioner for bad bearings, check accessories for rough bearings (alternator, PS pump, water pump and A/C compressor), then install a new belt. Take a close look at the crankshaft pulley and make sure it is not coming apart and that the belt is in perfect alignment with all the devices it turns. Do not use belt dressing on a serpentine belt.

All the bearnings are fine, after i spray water on it squeak goes away. The squeam started after i changed the alternator was thinking maybe the alternator pulley is slightler different and maybe causing misalignment? Also contential elite used to be goodyear gatorback
