Ok thanks nice to no it's not just mine or something they all do regularly . Because I was thinking about buying a newer Jeep like 2007 but was kinda not wanting to because there quadra drive and I thought that the all time 4wd had to do with the wobble like all quadadrive Jeep's do it . I really don't like it.

Hello, I could use some help with my Jeep. it's idling kinda rough when stopped I think normal rpm idling is like 600. But mine idles at 600 then will go alittle up and then alittle down and keep floating around like that. An occasionally it drops to around 400 , I read that it could be (Pcm, spark plugs, IAC, Tps ,fuel injectors needing cleaned ) it does have 221k on it .

Thanks . I'm gonna run some fuel injector cleaner in it. The probably replace plugs. And I work at AutoZone so I can use our readers to reset the code .Also I do have a bad Pulley could it be that (Not sure whether it's idler or tensioner)

I would also like to remind you I have code p0601 for the Pcm . Is there a good chance it is that ?

1,170

Ok. Can I get a Pcm from a junk yard and then take it to dealer to program it and if so how much would it cost ?

1,170

2002 and I know but I don't want to have to dig through a bunch of Jeep's in the junk yard only to find out none of the match the part number

Is there a good chance that if I find a Jeep just like mine the pcms will match ? How many P/N are there for a 02 Jeep v8 Pcm

1,170

Do you think it's possible that it's just normal for it to be doing this since it does have 221k

1,170

Ok thanks . Do you think that this rpm surge is just normal wear and tear for these miles and has nothing to do with it ? Have you have any experience with this sort of thing ?

1,170

Thank you I understand since the Pcm isn't storing most memory it doesn't really remember how to idle there for it's surging because it's try to find out how to idle because it can't remember because the Pcm is failing

1,170

Ok so I put Lucas injector cleaner in it about two days ago now it's only doing the rpm surge alittlw not anywhere near is bad . Does that indicate anything to you ?

1,170

I'd it possible the computer isn't causing this ? Maybe like you said injectors and stuff are really crudded up

What if I order a Pcm online from a creditable source & they program it to my vin and milage . Will I have to reprogram key also ? What about The Skim or whatever ?

1,170

Apprenlty this is what skim is. I think i would need to get key reprogammed . ...When a Powertrain Control Module(PCM) is replaced on vehicles equipped with the Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System (SKIM), it must be initialized to properly function with the anti-theft module. This is accomplished at a Chrysler Group Dealer by using the DRBIII or StarSCAN Scan Tool to enter a PIN number

I belive it does, my has the grey key with fhe chip in it . So even if i replaced the pcm the i would still have to get The skim reactivated to my keys and to work with new pcm

So iv noticed with the rpm surging that it gets alittle worse when it gets warm and also at stop lights how the idle goes down to like 300 if i put it in reverse or park then back itno drive idle retuns to normal around like 600
