Car can only go to 60 mph with o/d off and 40 with o/d on at 2500 rpm
2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.7L V8. TheCar
can only go to 60 mph with o/d off and 40 with o/d
on at 2500 rpm. When i try to accelerate past 2500
rpm the car bucks and the speed drops and have
to wait awhile before the car builds back speed to
60 mph or 40 mph. The air idle control and the fuel
filter have been replaced. I have been told it my be
the camshaft poit ion sensor.
Kinda sounds like a fuel delivery problem, have you tested the fuel pressure and flow? As cam and crank sensors are both high fail I would just replace them, especially if you have over 100K on the engine. They are not that expensive after market parts and once you get the starter out of the way the crank sensor is an easy replacement as well as the cam sensor.
A plugged up catalytic converter is also a possibility. Replace the fuel and air filters while you are at it.
