I imagine you have the 4.7 liter V-8 in your Cherokee. If so, it is just like a small block Chevy. Firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. As you stand in front of the car looking at the engine, on the left you have cylinders 2 4 6 8 front to back, on the right you have cylinders 1 3 5 7 front to back.
