somtimes my jeep wont shift into the next gear untill well over 3000 rpms. im getting ready for a trip across country and worry that i will have trouble along the way.
Check your transmission fluid level, while the Jeep is running. Make sure it's full and red like cherry kool-aid. If its brown and smells burnt have it flushed. I recommend BG brand.
change your filter an add an additive like Lucas that the least cheapest & it want hurt
A transmission flush gets rid of all the old fluid and dirt in the torque converter, trans cooler lines and trans cooler. Just dropping the pan and changing the filter won't. So as soon as you start it after reinstalling the pan the fresh new fluid mixes with the dirty trans fluid thats leftover.
