how do i fix the flap above the blower motor that has broken and laying flat instead of verticle?
I have a 2001 jeep cherokee and the blower motor works great but suddenly lost air flow through all vents. i just
unplugged blower motor under glove box and took it off and looked up where air flow travels and there is a
round plastic flap just laying there LOOSLEY and i can take my finger and move it around because there is
nothing hooked to it. i was wondering if that is stopping the air flow because it is right above the blower motor
but seems to be in the way of the air flow. I dont know why its there but it covers and blocks the air flow tunnel. I
was wonderingif i can take it out and get air flow
" I was wondering if i can take it out and get air flow" - Won't hurt to try. It could be to let outside air in. How about propping it open and trying it out? If you remove it, you might have to figure out how to put it back in place.
That is one of the problems that jeep has with the heater and Air Conditioner controls servos. Go to You tube and search Jeep Cherokee heater. There is one on the recurc door. I blocked mine open while it was winter using a coat hanger and some duct tape. I have fixed it now, had to remove the dash and replace the duct assembly that included a new door, it isn't made very good so it will break again I'm sure.
it will work if you remove it. it is the recirc door...
