#5 misfire problem
I get a #5 misfire. The coil pack is good and the injectors are good what else could it be?I've heard the intake manifold gasket or the computer on the firewall. It runs good when you first start up then after about 5 min. it starts missing and the check engine light comes on.It remains on and misses untill it cools down over night. I also have good compression about 120 LBS.
Hi Clint ... Compression was my first guess, and valves would be my second guess but that's generally not heat-related. The manifold could be a source of issues because this obviously relates to heat but you may need professional help on this one. Try your local Jeep service manager for answers on this one. Good luck.
Had many a misfire code presented ....all due to a plugged up catalytic converter...and not just on Jeeps, even partially blocked...Stupid pollution control...
I had a #2 and #3 misfire, changed the plugs and wires been great ever since.
I have a #6 misfire, changed the spark plugs and the coil. Truck ran smooth then began to sound as if it's not getting enough gas if I go over 50 mph and when it's idle it sounds as if it wants to cut off. need help!
