I was not there, but my fiance told me she needed
a jump. After jumping she let car run and turned on
all lights. Seemed fine after a minute or two do she
set off and said engine died with lights still on, and
again did not have the power to start.
Sounds like the alternator. When the alternator fails the vehicle will continue to run off the battery until the battery is dead. If the headlights are very dim the battery is dead. Most fully charged batteries have a 90 minute reserve capacity. This means that if the alternator fails you can drive for about 90 minutes, at night, with the headlights on but all other accessories (radio, heater, wipers, etc.) off. Charge the battery and load test it. If it passes the load test, test the alternator. I'm betting on the alternator being bad. HTH. -Jim
I would suggest trying to get it to your closest auto parts store so they can run a charging system test. Your battery may be bad or going bad which can also cause this issue.
