Replace the fuel filter if you did not do so already. Run a good fuel system cleaner like Sea Foam or Chevron with Techron.
The auto part store told me it has a built in fule filter
And I have supreme gas in it and had fuel cleaner in it.what happened is I ran out of gas a few days ago then it started to die at various speed over 50 and everyone was telling me it was fuel filter or fuel pump
If your check engine light is on, it may your crank sensor.
My check engine light was on before I change my fuel pump and after I changed the pump it went off
I would have the codes checked. The previous code should be stored in memory. May have been something other than the fuel pump. Seems odd that it would go off, yet you still have the same issue.
Yes, when the check engine light illuminates, it stores an error code. An OBD II scanner is hooked to the port and error codes are then downloaded. Error codes will come out such as PO203 for example. You can then Google the error code and a list of possibilities will pop up. Some auto stores such as Autozone will read the codes for you. The error codes are how dealerships and garages figure out what is wrong with your car.
