my jeep will go into 4 wheel drive but it takes awhile to go back in to 2 wheel drive why is that

That can be caused by a couple of things, tires mismatched, not putting it in 4X4 at once every 30 days, worn actuator fingers inside the transfer case, front drive engagement solenoid sticky.
