Thermostat or water pump?

Asked by Feb 03, 2016 at 05:24 PM about the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can't drive very far before it overheats.  Is there a way to tell if it's the
thermostat vs the water pump?  Was loosing antifreeze for a while but that
has now subsided.  Now it just overheats after a normal distance.
