I have a 1993 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 and when the ignition is off the fuel
pump stays on but when i try to start it the fuel pump turns off
In my whole life I have never heard that happen... you should have a dead battery and at the very least a bad fuel pump. Most pumps only run a few seconds because it should not take longer than that to get pressure ... if a pump fails to shut off it could put so much pressure in the fuel rails ... you could get some serious damage ....IT"S AS DANGEROUS AS IT CAN GET''''' Be certain that your not hearing the radiator fan
I pulled the fuel pump relay and it stops at that point
