2004 santa fe do struts have to be replaced when the coil springs damaged the tire
both struts and coil springs can be purchased separately.
thanks, but is it necessary to replaced both when springs fail?
They can be taken apart. The job is dangerous without the proper tools. If you are going to pay someone time to separate them and put them back together, you might as well opt for whole new struts. The car is 10 years old. New struts probably a good idea anyway.
They CAN both be replaced, or be replaced separately, but common sense would tell you that if the springs failed, the struts then had a lot of extra work to do, so you should replace them as well, but it really is your choice.
