Have you tried replacing the spark plugs? It's possible it could also be your fuel injectors

what about the fuel filter ? if you have at some point used lower quality fuel then you may have gotten it cloged. jameses ideas there are not bad ones either. I would have the fuel pressure tested out on your car and see where its at. most of these cars have fuel pressure regulators and it might be going bad.

Do you have access to a VAG-COM PC-based testing cable by Ross Tech? Check your local clubs for an Audi club, join, and someone will likely help you out. These cables allow for more detail on diagnostics than generic OBD systems. The generic system may give you enough detail if the car logged an issue. For example, you may have a vacuum leak. If so, the car's computer would log it and the OBD diagnostic device will report the issue. Generic OBD tools (attached under the drivers knee panel) can often be found for $20 US.

I'd go for cam shaft sensor all day, or the wire leading to it 100%
