2005 GMC Sierra won't start
I have a 2005 GMC sierra 1500 (4.3L, v6, odometer 330,000+, rebuilt engine
that has little less than half the odometer reading) that won't start. turn key
can hear fuel pump turn on, will turn over but not start. 2+ years ago had
same problem and then I replace distributor cap and worked until now,
recently checked a couple of spark plugs and they look good, had a tester
on a couple cables and theres electricity coming to plugs, used hair drier to
try and dry out distributor cap and started, 2 days later wouldn't star, took of
distributor cap and looked good but lost screws so went and bought new
distributor cap and put it on and started, now won't start again, just turns
over, can still hear fuel pump.
I am thinking you have a weak spark. Check the spark it should look white, if it is orange then it is a weak spark.
You may have a coil going bad, or the ignition control module. Both these can be tested at a parts store like Auto Zone.
They told me at auto zone that they coldnt test ignition module if i brought it in
