By the end of the week I will have 315,000
on my 05 Seirra yes 315 great truck looks
good but starting to smoke.
A buddy has a 6.0 in good shape will
everything bolt up. What will happen to gas
mileage can the drivetrain handle the 6.0.
This is a 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive on the
interstate a lot no trailer

Not really an answer to your question but if it only smokes at idle that's valve guide seals. Not a terribly expensive fix. A lot less hassle then swapping out the engine. Just a thought. HTH. -Jim
