I recently bought a 1997 GMC Sierra I just need
someone to explain to me the gears the 4x4 has like
4high 2 high and the 4l
2HI for normal everyday driving on hard or well defined dirt roads, 4HI for on road when very wet or snowy roads and limit speeds to no faster that 45mph, can also be used off road on dirt or gravel where more traction is desirable, 4LO off road only, very muddy or snowy conditions and very low speeds. This is a general guideline, every situation is different, get familiar with your rig and you will soon find out what is best suited for each road type. HTH
If I don't wanna use the 4x4 do I put it on N where all the 4x4 gears are at
No, put it in 2HI that will keep the 4X4 inactive.
