My 96 GMC Sierra k1500 z71 will not move forward or backward.

Asked by Jun 11, 2016 at 04:44 PM about the 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 K1500 SLE 4WD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving down the highway at about 50 mph and lost
power my engine rpms were going up but my car stopped
moving. I pulled over and got a tow home. Checked fluid
levels, they were a little above average and I don't know
why, also the linkage was okay, no fuses popped. You can
feel the truck shift into drive but it's just not getting any
pressure

Have you tried to shift it into 4X4? Might be a transfer case problem.
