i have 94 gmc 1500 5.7 an i have to spray gas in the throttle to crank it what could it be

not sure if your carb his this but there is a spring activated CHOKE and a "heat-riser" to make sure that it goes on...assuming a Carburetted model...not quite certain of the fuel injected models but would predict that this goodie is not working anymore~

Fuel pressure should be 9 to 13 lbs. Also the regulator in the TBI may need to be rebuilt, the spring gets weak.
