How can I get my starter to work

there must be a solid CLEAN ground at the end of the black cable where it attaches to the frame/chassis -and- the cable that connects the motor block (near the alternator) ....with these two SOLID ground points with a NEW battery and clean connections to the starter you'll be off and runnin'~

if all these things are okay, then I'd look at the ignition relay~
