What was the reason for replacing the TPS in the first place

She was constantly shifting out of od to d so mechanic told me the tps needed changing

I'm afraid ur gonna have to take it to a transmission shop unless ur getting a check engine light then u need to get the codes but if the engine is idling and ramping rpm's up normal, that's what the throttle positioning sensor is supposed to do. You can check the tps sensor to see if it has a dead spot on it by checking with ohm or voltage meter but looks like transmission issue. Is fluid level ok? when was the last time u had the transmission serviced?

Fluid level is good but don't know the last time it was tranny was serviced thank you
