heat issues

Have a 1990 gt auto trans. Just put in a 3 core aluminum rad with a 16" 2350 cfm fan. On the highway runs great with ac on. on city streets temp is about 230 degrees with ac on.
Rad dems are 18"x 24.5".Would i be better served using 2 12" 1550 cfm fans set diagonally? Live in Phx 108 degrees today will be 115 shortly.

A lower temp T-stat and maybe a high flow water pump. As far as the dual fan setup Im not sure, Im debating which electric fan setup for my 89 GT as it gets hot here in FL as well. If you do switch to the duel fan let me know how it works versus the single. Good Luck

Which direction is the fan blowing? Is the fan mounted to the front or rear of the radiator? The fan needs to be moving air from front to back. A lower temp thermostat is worth a shot, but my guess is it won't fix the problem.
