Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My envoy ran great for a while an then out of
nowhere while i was driving it acted like it
slipped into neutral an that was it. The
vehicle still runs great but i have no gears an
the fluid level is fine but the only gear that
seems to work is park.. if i put it in drive an
get the rpms high (like 4k) it will act like it
wants to move but doesnt really move more
than an inch or two... please any advise will

Check the torque converter. Possibly a bad solenoid in the transmission valve body not directing fluid pressure to the rest of the transmission.

I disconnected the lines and found that there is no fluid pressure pushing any fluid out of the transmission at all so im assuming that could be the problem, but what would cause that issue other than a bad pump?

Transmissions need fluid to shift gears. If there isnt any fluid pressure coming from the transmission, check the valve body. I still think its just a solenoid.

How do i check to see if its a bad solenoid and which one it is?

Actually, did you unplug one of the transmission lines and try to turn the engine over a few times? From your previous comment it made me wonder if the trans pump is seized or not

Yes i unhooked both lines from the trans cooler an turned the engine over an there was no fluid pumping through the lines

Ouch. Then disregard my previous comments. If there isnt any fluid pumping through the lines, the transmission pump has failed on you.
