cold start trouble

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 b2500 Dodge Van with a 5.2 engine. The first thing in the morning my van will not start unless I leave the key in the on position for about 30 seconds, then starts fine. What will cause this problem?

Sounds like the fuel system is losing pressure. By turning the key on first then letting it sit you're pressurizing the fuel system. Most likely cause is a dying fuel pump. HTH -Jim
