I need to know if ford ever made a 92 thunderbird sport with a 5 speed trany. if not were would i get the stuff to swap my auto to a 5 speed
I have a 1992 thunderbird sport and i have gone through 6 auto tranys in 4 months i started with the stock AOD witch was the strongest one out of all then a AOD out of a 3.8 t bird that ivestly didnt last 10 miles then 2 c4 tranys broke them in half one around the bellhosing and the other down the middle of the gear box after that i put a 5.0 AOD in it but i didn't have the right TV Cable needless to say it burnt up now i have a AOD out of a 351 Windsor mustang with a B&M shift kit and a 10 inch stall convertor but still don't have the right TV Cable I'm tired of dealing with auto tranys I'm ready to just put a 5 speed in it i love my tbirb to much to sell it
i have never seen a Thunderbird sport before i got this one and haven't seen another since so i have no idea if ford ever made one a 5 speed or not but i'm going to so if you can enlighten me on if this is possible please do so thanks .
Hello, The 1992 Thunderbird was available with a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual. HOwever, the Sport was only available as a four-speed auto. Best of luck! CarGrrl
